Position of the Terminator II

The applet below displays the current Selenographic Longitude of the terminator when the page is loaded. Refreshing this page in the browser will update the position of the terminator to the current time. This applet DOES NOT depict a realistic phase. Because the map used in the applet displays the full 5/9 of the visible lunar surface as seen from Earth, the appearance of the "phase" will look slightly different compared to the Moon as seen in the sky. The position of the terminator is accurate, which allows for identifying features that would be on or nearest the terminator. This version of the applet is "work-in-progress" and contains some of the features that will be available in the final version.
